The William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan ("WDI") seeks to hire a full-time Executive Research Associate (originally posted as "Executive Administrative Assistant"). This individual will provide support for the WDI President as well as other WDI executives and complete ad hoc projects. This position will be available on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. This position is based in our lovely (recently renovated) Ann Arbor office.
Conserve President’s and executives’ time by reading, researching, compiling data, drafting and preparing internal and external correspondence, as well as documents for consideration and presentation by executives; prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information
Assist in the oversight of certain projects taking the lead role when requested by the President
Attend meetings to record minutes and then compile, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes (including bi-annual board meetings) in a timely manner
Maintain confidentiality as appropriate
Oversee compilation of WDI board books; file and retrieve board documents, records and reports
Manage and maintain schedules; prepare agendas, room reservations, travel arrangements and related accommodations; process travel/hosting expense reports for: the WDI President and other executives, WDI board members, and other high-profile WDI visitors
Process the President’s monthly credit card reconciliation and other executives as requested by the President
Coordinate catering for WDI-hosted events and meetings, including board meetings
Direct incoming phone calls or take messages as needed
Provide clerical support to other departments
Contribute to team effort by actively participating in WDI task forces and accomplishing related results
Required Candidate Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree which is relevant to this opening, plus a minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible office work experience in a relevant, similar position
Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organizational skills
Ability and willingness to be flexible and provide support in a dynamic work environment
Possess excellent organizational skills and excellent attention to detail with ability to focus while working on multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Possess superior interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to professionally interact with persons from the general public to board members and personnel of all levels
Must be discreet, tactful, and able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
Computer skills include: Windows-environment computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
Possess a current network of faculty/staff relationships at the UM’s Ross School of Business
Working knowledge of Canvas
