Graphic & Web Design Specialist
Ann Arbor, MI
This full-time job is available as of Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in our lovely, recently remodeled Ann Arbor office. The Graphic and Web Design Specialist is responsible for supporting the design and formatting of business cases for Publishing, as well as other online and offline graphics design requirements within the William Davidson Institute.
Format and layout case studies, teaching note documents, etc. using Adobe InDesign templates; this includes formatting exhibits, tables, and other images included within these documents
Design WordPress CMS assets such as wireframes, graphics, landing pages and templates with a focus on positive user experience
Create layouts, graphics, and templates to support digital and offline marketing, as well as academic reports, studies, and other elements
Maintain shared drive files for all design documents including all iterative versions, approval documentation, graphics, fonts, and text
Participate in collaborative ideation meetings
Proofread (e.g., business cases, white papers, reports, etc.)
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree with course work in Design or Desktop Publishing or similar
Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ paid experience in both online and offline graphics design
Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
Proficiency and skill in WordPress CMS (or similar)
Demonstrated sense of creativity, design, typography and branding knowledge
Ability to discuss design decisions and effectively take direction and constructive design input
Superior interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to adapt and learn quickly
Superior writing skills, as well as proofreading, editing (e.g., grammar, punctuation) skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Computer proficiency in MS Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ability to take initiative, multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
Working knowledge of social media graphic design approaches and techniques
Working knowledge of SEO techniques
